  • Professor Tim Gardner Honored with Career Development Professorship Award

    CELEST faculty and governing board member Tim Gardner has been honored with the 2014-2015 Boston University Innovation Career Development Professorship Award. The Innovation Career Development Professorships are endowed with proceeds from our Office of Technology Development to support Assistant Professors whose translational research is likely to lead to future licensed technology.

    As this year's only Innovation Career Professorship recipient, Tim Gardner is recognized for his outstanding research track record, the interdisciplinary and highly translational nature of his work, and his exciting vision for future exploration.

  • Michael Hasselmo named director of new BU Center for Systems Neuroscience

    Dr. Jean Morrison, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer and Dr. Gloria Waters, Vice President and Associate Provost for Research, have announced the new Boston University Center for Systems Neuroscience (CSN). The new center will be interdisciplinary and interdepartmental in nature and University-wide in scope.

    The Center’s mission will be to advance research in Systems Neuroscience at Boston University with the specific goals of:

    1. Establishing an internationally recognized academic center of excellence that will attract talented investigators for training in experimental techniques and mathematical modeling in systems neuroscience;

    2. Fostering collaborative research;

    3. Generating and providing access to technical innovations that will enhance our understanding of neural systems; and

    4. Fostering collaborative research linking human behavior to neural mechanisms by improving access to imaging techniques through a new Center for Cognitive Neuroimaging.

    Dr. Michael Hasselmo, a Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences and a CELEST member, has been named the inaugural Director of the Center for Systems Neuroscience (CSN) at Boston University.

  • American Academy of Audiology Online Seminar

    As part of their eAudiology Web Seminar series the American Academy of Audiology is presenting an upcoming online seminar on Selective Auditory Attention on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

    The seminar will be presented by CompNet members Barbara Shinn-Cunningham, PhD; Hari Bharadwaj, MS; Inyong Choi; Hannah Goldberg; and Scott Clarke Bressler.
