Andrés Felipe Salazar Gómez

Andrés received his B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering at the EIA and CES Universities in Colombia, South America, and came to the Boston area to work as research assistant for two and a half years in the NeuroScience and Statistics Lab at MGH where he focused on doing EEG, MRI and source localization analysis.
Driven by the idea of developing speech prosthesis, he joined the CNS department as a Ph.D. student in Fall 2010 and has been part of the Speech lab since then. Andrés is committed to a deeply understanding of EEG signals (as well as intracranial recordings), its neural mechanisms and encoded information in order to develop robust brain computer interfaces (BCI) that provide a natural conversational level to people that have lost the ability to speak.
