Byron Galbraith

Byron Galbraith is a first year PhD student in Cognitive and Neural Systems at Boston University. He has a BS in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MS in Bioinformatics from Marquette University and the Medical School of Wisconsin where his thesis focused on applying GPU acceleration to large-scale neural simulation and decoding. Byron has also worked as a professional software developer and systems engineer for industries ranging from insurance to academic medicine to consulting.
His current research interests are in high-performance computing with GPUs, spiking neural networks, the brain-computer interface, and promoting the use of Python in computational neuroscience.
