Yakeel Quiroz
Yakeel Quiroz is a PhD student in the BU Psychology Department working with Professor Chantal Stern in the Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory and the Center for Memory and Brain. For the last couple of years, she has been working on fMRI studies of the role of medial temporal lobe structures in working memory. She was second author on a paper (Schon et al., 2009) that examined working memory load effects in the medial temporal lobe.
Currently, she’s working on analyzing data and writing up results of a study on semantic relatedness effects on encoding and retrieval during working memory. My research connects with the goals of CELEST by using imaging methods to study normal learning processes.
